I’m obsessively checking election results. Refreshing. Refreshing. Refreshing. Refreshing.

It’s nuts. I know it’s nuts. Nothing will be decided before I go to bed. I don’t think the Presidential race will truly be decided before I wake up tomorrow. There’s too many issues, too many ballots set aside for various reasons, too many voters issued provisional ballots while their citizenship is verified, too many watchdog groups (official and self-appointed) who will demand hand counts, just too many lawsuits already in the works and others to be filed over the next several days.

Yet I keep refreshing my screen. Refreshing the separate windows I have open for Kentucky and nationwide results. Flipping between my county and the state results.

I’m drinking hard pear cider. Hopefully it will make me tired enough to sleep a reasonable amount tonight.

I will be angry and afraid if the wrong candidate (in my opinion) wins. I know others will feel the same if the right (in my opinion) candidate wins. But I’m not worried about their feelings right now.

I had a ridiculous dream last night. Nothing about the election. My friend S was in it. I’m going to text her, tell her about the utter nonsense from my brain. That, like writing this post, will keep me busy for several minutes. Too busy to refresh.
