1 I’ve been trying to get a pic of this handsome dude for a few months.
I don’t see him every day — usually at sunset on my way home. His poses are so dramatic. I finally got a pic (I had to stop in the middle of the road, back up, roll down my window, and zoom my phone’s camera to the max), and he’s just standing there. When he shows off his wings you can tell he’s a very regal heron.
2 All weekend I planned to make asiago rolls on Sunday. Except on Sunday when I was extra brain dead and forgot until it was too late. So I made the yeasty base thing (which has a name but I can’t think of it — something starter) last night and let it ferment overnight and made the dough this morning to prove while I was at work. Because since it’s a shorter day for me I could get into the kneading etc tonight. Now it’s tonight and no, I am not into it. But I have a big bowl of yeast paste (with a little salt and olive oil), so ok I’m kneading. And I divided it into seven (not six and not sure how I did that) rolls and then remembered the asiago. So the cheese got kneaded and rolled into each roll individually.
I also managed to juggle an open but nearly empty bottle of salad dressing and plant a perfect bleu cheese target on my boob.
Moral of this story: I should have just gone straight to bed when I got home.

Okay, second prove is almost done. Fingers crossed I’ve made something decent.
