Sorry I've been absent again. I compose -- in my head where it doesn't do anyone any good -- posts almost every day. And then every possible crazy thing happens and I realize I can't keep my open a second longer oh look at that because it's after midnight I got maybe 4 hours of sleep last night and gah.
So, yeah, I suck, but I'm too worn out to care.
The internet or maybe just wix is acting up so I don't know how much I can type without another disaster. I'm definitely not trying anything fancy like looking back at the last couple of posts to see if I told y'all Uley arrived and that his name is indeed Uley and so on. So if repeating, just stop reading this post. You won't hurt my feelings. I won't even know that you stopped. We're cool.
So, yeah, this is Uley, pronounced as Oo-lee. I named him after the long barrow in Gloucestershire, which I don't think is pronounced Oo-lee. If you know the English Uley and you think my pronunciation is weird, just say it how it feels natural in your own head. You can't tell in this pic, but he's wearing the lovely robe I made for myself. It looks good on him. I am not making him his own robe, tho. Probably.
I do plan to make him a bonnet and put him in some froufy lace-up gown so he can be one of the skeletons from Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl for Hallowe'en. You know, when the two less-than-bright crewmen have to wear the gowns in the rowboat to distract the Brits while the rest of the pirates walk on the ocean floor to the British naval ship? I even have a parasol for him to hold.
So far Uley spends most days looking out a window waving at the neighbors. He sleeps on the guest bed at night. Torii was not sure about him at first, but she's gotten used to him.
Okay. I had a plan when I started typing but I've been interrupted so many times, plus wix freaking out, and I accidently x-ed out of Chrome. I have no idea where I planned to go with this today. Maybe just reassure / remind y'all I'm still alive. If wix will cooperate I'll start drafts of the two main ideas I've been mentally building into posts. Maybe I can actually write them -- and spellcheck and edit even (fancy) -- into real posts sometime soon.
