So the temps got into the upper 70Fs and maybe even hit 80F over the weekend. And tonight we’re looking at an overnight low of 45F. We’ll have low of 35F by Wednesday. I think we’ve had snow two out of the three Fridays so far in April.
I think nature — meaning plants and insects — will speed-evolve to adapt to this new weather meshuga by getting out pollen/spores/eggs as quick as possible when there’s favorable weather. Like within the first six to twelve hours of pleasant temps. So when the next cold snap comes through (and this year has taught us there is always another cold snap coming), the current batch of weeds and critters dies but the future generations are already on deck, just waiting for the next nice spring day.
There’s no real point to this post. We were extra short-staffed today so I had way too much time to hide inside my head while trying to act normal to patrons.
Also, I’d really like to wear eyeliner again. That and my spf powder are all the makeup I bother with now, but the “no eye makeup on bad allergy days” rule is still in effect. And it’s always bad allergy days. Until the next April snow.
