randomlymisha coming to live (scratch that, half-dead) from the longest day of the year

czarinamisha

I know midsummer is supposed to be the longest day, but that's just big greeting card propaganda. End of daylight savings fall back reset your clocks is the 25-hour day. Which would be awesome if you haven't been awake since 1 am (EDT) / midnight (EST).

That's right. I'm nineteen hours into this Sunday. And I have gotten a ton o' sh^t done. And I am too sore, too stiff, too f^cking exhausted to move.

I have no idea where I left off. I forgot to check what my last couple of posts were . And when. And frankly it just seems like too much hassle to save and get out of this draft and read recent posts and come back to the draft folder.

Also I started on the muscle relaxing regimen -- hot shower, heavy meal, wine -- so that's a lot of steps to remember just to maintain some sort of continuity.

I spent a couple of days at Bestie's for Hallowe'en. Her partner is, well, I'm just going to refer to him as "Earl". And if you know the Dixie Chicks you'll understand. He's miserable. Won't deal with what's making him miserable (his parents). Hates everyone (Bestie, coworkers, every random driver who does something to piss him off) and everything (his home with Bestie) else instead.

Speaking of homes (and gettin away from this incredibly frustrating topic), all insurance-required projects are done. I finished the last trim touch-ups today -- with many thanks to my brother for lending me a tall ladder, my niece for holding the paint and brush for me, and my (hopefully soon-to-be) nephew for bracing the ladder so I didn't die. Now I just need to take a bunch of pics and upload everything to the insurance site. But not today. Because it's 7pm and totally dark out. And I'm conserving my last oomph of energy to go downstairs and move the laundry to the dryer. I probably won't make it back up the stairs. So someone please show this post to the police when they do a wellness check and find me dead on the concrete floor.

"Why did she bother doing laundry if she knew this was the end?" they ask. Because it's Sunday and I do laundry on Sunday.

Hallowe'en was fun. I passed out activity/coloring pages and crayons in lieu of candy. Most kids seemed happy with free crayons. A few got very excited about getting a scroll. (I rolled the pages and tied the crayons on with ribbon.)

My Weird Barbie costume. I'm really happy with it.

Uley went as Cousin Itt in his ghost costume. Putting a flamingo in a cat harness (technically size s/m dog because Ivan was a big kitty) just seemed to go with the whole vibe.

I'm sure I have actual relevant news to share but f^ck if I can remember. And my elbow is seizing from typing on my phone. So that's all for tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll write the post I meant to do tonight. We'll see.

p.s. I cannot convey how impressed I am that I remembered how to put my name on my photos. And from my phone. Just wow. I'm smarter than I give myself credit for.
