I64 is out of order. again. as is reality. and the door.

czarinamisha

On Saturday, I was on I64W for about 1/2 mile when I passed a flashing sign that read: I64 closed. use next exit. And it took about 20 minutes

Holy crap! There's a dog that's been following library patrons around outside and trying to follow them inside and he (the dog) made it in with an older man who doesn't see or hear well and D chased him out but then he (the dog) came in again with a teen and the older man, now leaving, shooed the dog out but he (the dog) ran faster than the automatic doors open and banged his (the dog's) shoulder into one of the doors and now that door is off its track/hinges but he (the dog) is okay and letting the teen pet him (the dog) even his (the dog's) shoulder.

Sorry. Got a little sidetracked there. And then I was on 9-1-1 duty while D and S lifted the glass door and got it settled and aligned and all. And apparently there's a mystery ladder against the building.

Anyway. Whatever I was saying about I64 it just comes down to it sucks and parts of it are randomly closed for mysterious reasons, I assume accidents but whatever happened it's not on the news. Whereas the accidents on I75, the other nearby interstate, make the news at least once a week. I don't know if it's because the accidents on I75 are more interesting -- Saturday, the day I had to exit I64 just to get right back on it for no obvious reason, a woman drove the wrong way on I75 and killed herself and a family of five in another vehicle and it's not the first time that's happened -- and I64's closures are just the usual deer tried to cross a really busy highway and failed and a road crew has to haul the corpse out of traffic (which is important as I know from first-hand experience that running over a recently deceased deer corpse on the interstate is very very bad for one's car and psyche).

I really planned to go somewhere with this, more than just bitching because the damn interstate randomly closes, but I have no idea now. Maybe an IQ test required before being allowed on an interstate? Honestly, I have no idea. The dog (actually there are two dogs, two teens on skateboards, and a chicken in the parking lot and I'm not exaggerating for effect) dislocated my brain as much as he (the dog) dislocated the door and possibly his (the dog's) shoulder.

p.s. I'm expecting an Amazon delivery today. We'll see how that goes. If you're not familiar with my misadventures with Amazon deliveries, read here.
