oh thank god. driving home i turned off the goofy science audiobook at the end of a chapter. "under pressure" was nearly over when i switched to radio.
then "people are strange".
then "the final countdown".
then "carry on wayward son".
and while i like all of these songs i was getting a less-than-positive vibe. not full-on distopia. but definitely a "danger will robinson" feel.
which matched my mood as the polls closed tonight. but results are coming in from all counties and it looks like i'm not going to have to seriously look into work/immigration options overseas.
p.s. spent most of the day directing people to the actual polling places. given the demographics for the county where i work they were most likely voters for cameron. i was very tempted to send them to the far reaches of the county, especially as we got near 6:00 pm. i swear i will next year. i'll either send them to an unspecified marina at the lake or maybe even to the library just over the county line. the one i hear "muckety-muck library lets us use meeting rooms for baby showers" and "muckety-muck library only charges $0.35 to send a fax" and "muckety-muck library has unicorns for kids to check out." i figure people so clueless about when and where to vote won't notice i'm sending them to another county -- where they will be ineligible.
