Cue ominous cello

Up before dawn to do my every-other week grocery shopping. And I def wanted in and out of the store earlyearly since it’s a holiday weekend. I heard a weird thunk when I started the car, bur then nothing unusual. Looking in the rear view mirror was . . . odd, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. In the end, I decided it was just odd interior reflection because of the predawn darkness and glow from the street lamps and that weird moonlight filtered through the rain clouds you get sometimes in storms.
I backed out of the driveway and forward to the corner and turn and stop at the stop sign and
sudden crazy blur of motion out of the corner of my eye.
My trunk was open and the trunk lid (wait, is the trunk the well-like space or the thing you lift up or do we use the same word for both?!) bouncing up and down, possibly from the back and forth and start and stop I’d done in 20 seconds. Or maybe there was a crazed hooked-handed psycho lurking in the trunk and is now out and circling around the car or maybe sneaking through yards to get ahead of me and then when I think it was my imagination will jump into the road and onto the hood of my car . . .
I got out and closed the trunk (whatever part that actually is) and drove on.
And finished shopping and was back in the car in record time. Which means, even tho I got everything on the list plus several things which weren’t, I probably forgot things and will end up having to run in quickly on my to work some morning.
Which is far scarier than a possible trunk psycho on a dark and stormy morning.
Update:
Torii can read but her spelling is atrocious. I nibbled on Cheez-It Snack Mix while reading, which is called breakfast in these parts. And she went bat-sh*t crazy trying to get a bit. I told her it wasn’t actual cheese and that’s why it’s spelled with a “z” but she was like a meth addict after a fix.
