9:00 pm and I'm doing my morning online crosswords that I didn't have time for because my boss decided to have me come and leave early two days a week to balance having to work open until close two days. The clue is something like part of a tv and I got the last few letters -- een -- so my very tired brain said "spleen!" Which you probably realize is not correct.
The schedule folderol was entirely her idea. If she had asked me I would have said I'm trying to maintain a consistent sleep schedule so getting up thirty minutes earlier on Mondays and Wednesdays kind of screws with that. Oh, and I really can't afford to lose an hour / week. No, it's not really that much money but every dime is precious when you're struggling and have been struggling for as long as I have. And I can barely meet my statistics deadlines some months as it is so to work less per week with no change in amount of time I have off of the circ desk is pretty much setting me up for failure.
But she didn't ask me.
I didn't know it was happening until it turned up inconsistently on the staff schedule and even then I thought I was covering for people on vacation. But then it didn't work out so the boss dropped it -- thank god. Then this month she decided to really make it happen.
Lucky me.
The worst part, well okay the worst part is everything about this. But beyond that, the worst is that she really thinks she's doing me a big favor. Of course, she probably also thinks she has great communication with the staff.
Anyway, I'm too tired to . . . fill in the blank. I'm just to sleepy to do anything. No staring at the tv spleen tonight.
