I lost the Death Star.
I’ll explain. Years ago a student gave me a Death Star cookie jar as a thanks-for-all -your-help when she graduated. I am terrible at baking cookies. You know those helpful charts with the common cookie problems, pics of what each mistake looks like when baked, and how to do it right next time? My cookies have properties of all of the problems, even contradictory issues like too much and too little flour. Cookies are just not my thing.
So I keep notions (ribbons, lace, odd ornaments and charms) in my Death Star.
I had an idea to fix a pair of shoes, so I needed a notion (I just couldn’t do “had a notion needed a notion”). But I can’t find this large, grey Death Star. And I know I’ve seen it recently but I can’t picture where. I try to keep it where the demon/cat can’t accidentally break it because it is ceramic.
Anyway. I had a notion and lost it. Story of my life.
p.s. Sorry.
p.p.s. Unrelated. I found a friend’s shoe. The right shoe. I’m not sure how many years the shoe has lived here. But it has been years, not months or weeks. I texted her and she still has the left. So I have to remember to pack it when I visit her at the end of June.
p.p.p.s. I found the Death Star. It was in the guest room. I did not find the notion I needed.
