The old bank accounts are closed. The mortgage and furnace loans are switched to auto pay from the new checking account. So I decided to up the ante and get the shingles vaccination. First dose was this morning; second dose at the end of August.
My arm hurts, but no worse than any other vax. And way less than the tetanus shot. And I've been super sleepy all day. I think that's really 10% vax and 90% just doing too much.
Getting sh^t done is a exhausting, y'all.
I'm pretty sure I'm taking a sick day tomorrow. Because of the vax, of course.
I finally got out to mow with the weather app threatening rain in 11 minutes. Fortunately the clouds were a little late and I got the front done. And I wasn't the only one in the neighborhood racing the rain/thunderstorm/tornado (watch in effect until 11:00pm) to finish yard work with power tools. Only in Kentucky.
Today's great realization: it's a really really bad sign when the prescription allergy eyedrops -- the ones you take every day -- burn going in. It's like you can hear the antihistamines snarking, "What is this shit in here?! Don't say it's pollen. Pollen is my thing. I know pollen. This is some nasty alien nuclear waste pollen. This is pollen from that little shop of horrors plant. You think one little drop of me can decontaminate this?! You trippin', bitch."
But the veggies I planted are growing. You can actually watch them growing. Like clunky old stop motion biology filmstrip (ask your parents if you're under the age of 40), but t in real time. It's a science fair experiment! What effect does a week of almost constant rain then a couple of sunny days (with the obvious humidity for the situation) have on newly planted green beans?
Seriously. Yesterday after work they were just sticking their heads out of the dirt so I could count them. Mostly. There were a couple that I couldn't be sure if there was something coming up. Twenty-four hours later and I can see them clearly from several feet away without my glasses. And an eye socket full of outer space mega pollen.
Well, time for me to get off here. I need to charge my phone and get ready in case the tornado siren sounds.
