Don't mind me. It's just the Benedryl talking.

People who don't have allergies will never understand the complex decisions of yard work.

"The weather should be good this weekend -- hot, but humidity only around 50%, with a strong breeze. I could weed before I leave for West Virginia. Buuuut, I'll be covered in hives at a Renaissance festival. And I'll have a lot to do at work next week with end of month and end of year stats. It just wouldn't be a good time to have my eyes swell shut and be on steroids for a week."

"Cooler this week, but pretty much a steady 90% humidity. (70F with 90% humidity does not feel like 70F. It's like you don't even understand how your own heat index works, Weather Channel app.) And that air just ain't moving at all. However, I have no real plans until the week of the 19th. And I've almost finished all of my stats. My normal stats. We still have the state stats and god knows what they'll ask for and how they'll want things counted this year. But we won't get that paperwork probably until the end of the month. And if my eyes are going to swell shut it will happen within a few days of weeding."

"I'll be off for a whole week for staycation. Who knows what the weather will be. Ha ha, I kid, third week of July will be miserably hot and humid with an extra dollop of humidity on top just so you know who's boss. I can be on antihistamines all week if necessary (and it will be). So this weekend I can just weed the basic stuff -- bindweed and wild strawberries -- out of the veggie patch and deal with the nasty stuff -- virginia creeper and poison ivy -- later."

I went with option B. This morning I'm watching the hives form and spread on my arms. I can't see what's going on on the back of my legs, but it itches like hell. Eyelids are just "puffy" stage. Right now I can delude myself that with plenty of antihistamines (when I don't have to drive or work) will keep things controlled enough that I won't need steroids. I am aware it is totally wishful thinking. Who wants in on the pool "what day will Misha end up at the clinic in need of prednisone"?
