Coworker R suggested we create a blog of all the weird things we get stuck behind on the way to work. I'm all for it and not just because she my encounter with the army convoy wins for the month.*
Completely unrelated
When I log on to Wix I start on a dashboard page with lots of information about my site and similar sites and blogging in general and maybe predictions about my death. I don't know. I don't really look at it. I do glance at the miscellaneous analytics -- site visits and post views and whatever. Everything is always zero, which is what I expect because I know I have no readers. And that's fine.
The issue is: the relative percentages go up and down. wtf?!
I could maybe accept the Site Sessions are just me accessing it to post -- altho I don't remember ever logging in so many times in one day to create that sudden spike you see rising like Mount Doom.
But the rising/falling Post Views really throw me. How is today's zero 21% below yesterday's zero? How was that zero one day last week up 600% from all of the previous zeroes?! How is any future zero supposed to live up to 600% increase?
Ok so maybe it's possible all of that stuff I don't read on the dashboard explains how to read their analytics. Maybe I should read it. It had better be a damn impressive explanation, is all I'm sayin'.
Tune in next week when someone from the library follows a Shriner's Parade to work!
*Note: I'm not upset about the army convoy, altho I'm not sure humvees do as well on an interstate as they do on maybe unpaved/off-road situations. The convey isn't even what made me late for work. It was just the aspect that seems to stand out in people's minds as I relate the saga.
