If you've read even one other post on this blog then you've probably realized I'm rather stressed. For over week now I've been reading about cbd oil, including a couple of Consumer Reports articles on types, uses, and buying tips. So today was the day. I stopped at a cbd store in Lexington, talked to a nice clerk (or possibly the owner), and bought a small bottle of low dose cbd oil. Natural flavor. I took it at 4:16. Fingers crossed that it helps, if only with more peaceful sleep. Or ease the effects of stress on my digestion. Actually, I'll feel it was worth the $40 + sales tax if alleviates this migraine.
Update
4:42 pm. Migraine is definitely easing, tho still present. It might be the cbd, or maybe the migraine has run its course,
Update
5:55 pm. Migraine is almost gone. I can turn my head without feeling at all nauseous. (Unrelated aside: I am going to have to reinstall one of the apps I purged because, since late Thursday night three people have contacted me via Messenger. No, I don't know why they don't just text me.)
Update (last one tonight I swear)
11:18 pm. The migraine was entirely gone by 6:30, leaving only the regular background someone Tom & Jerry'd by face with a skillet hello ragweed pollen allergy sinus headache. You can understand why a migraine on top of that is really terrible. Anyway, I debated whether I felt up to mowing the yard. I'd pretty much stop considering (procrastinating) and decided I could just about stand it and this way it would be done and I wouldn't have to fool with it tomorrow. Which is when I noticed that I didn't hear the boy across the street playing basketball (probably horse) with his friends and that it seemed dark in the living room because it was 8:00 and sunset was like 7:48. So I did not mow. But I did finally get to the store, so I have groceries even tho my intestines/stomach still feel a bit wobbly.
So today I went to work and didn't call anyone an idiot to their face. I not only went to the grocery store, but also into an unfamiliar store for a nonemergency item. This counts as a huge day for me.
Overall I'm not sure how the cbd did. I never really felt a strong effect, which is good since I bought very mild. It may or may not have contributed to the migraine relief. I kind of think it did help. And I haven't noticed my shoulder arthritis or weird achilles heel pain (yes, that's still a thing tho ever so much better than it was). I haven't felt sleepy. Normally I'm slapping myself to stay awake on the drive home on Saturdays and nap as soon as I hit the couch. I feel twitchy inside, but I've felt twitchy inside for a very long time; Friday's GI thing and accompanying dehydration only made it worse.
So it's been several hours since first drop. I'm about to go to bed. I don't have to work tomorrow. I just have the usual chores tomorrow (laundry, cooking something big for lunches for the week, and now mowing). So I'll probably try another drop before I call it a night.
p.s. Thoughts and prayers for the u-scan cashier at Kroger tonight. Several customers, including me, had items which did not ring up at posted sale prices. She called, well, I doubt she was a manager, maybe not even a supervisor, most likely just another cashier with a little more experience. This new cashier just shrugged and rolled her eyes and voided non-sale prices and forced in whatever sale price customers told her they'd seen. First cashier seemed so frazzled. And I hope management (whenever a manager actually turns up) doesn't punish her for any part of the mess. I hope she's just working this job because this is the shift needs to work. Otherwise, I hope she finds something better, less stressful. She seemed nice.
